LEOFF I Coalition

The LEOFF I Coalition occassionaly publishes information about LEOFF 1 issues.

Many of you have probably received the latest mailing from the Coalition. I have had a slew of telephone calls and emails expressing disappointment at the lack of information in that document. Specifically people are concerned to see that they spent over $49,000 of your money and provided little other information to provide any understanding of where they are spending the money.
Recently the Coalition sent out a newsletter in which they make a lot of statements that are innacurate, incomplete and not true.  Of course the enclosed a donation envelope and asked for more money.  Our original intent was to do a point-by-point review of that letter in order to provide better facts.

We have decided to take a slightly different approach.  Read the full article to find out why.
You may have recently received a notice from the LEOFF I Coalition. You will note from the enclosed envelope that they are, again, asking you to send money.

DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!

Read the article to find out why.

This is the first in a series of articles in response to a recent Coalition mailing.
I recently received a thoughtful letter from Ron Larsen, a retired Everett fire fighter.  In his lette he took me to task for some of my comments about the Coalition.  In this article I have provided by reply to Ron.
Ron Larsen, a retired Everett Fire Fighter, sent me a well thought out letter wherein he objects to some of my comments relative to the LEOFF 1 Coalition.  I appreciate the time, effort and thought that Ron has put into this effort.  It is the policy of LEOFF1.Net to publish all points of view on issues.  I advised Ron I would publish his letter, so click of the Full Story link below to read his letter.

Obviously, I think he drew some erroneous conclusions. I provided an reply. You can view a copy of my reply here.
